- Boil the chicken with stockfish season with stock cubes,salt and onion.Boil the yam then pound very well mould in small balls and put inside the boiled stockfish and chicken.pour in 2 cups of water.
- After 10minutes add the yam balls and boil till is thick.Blend crayfish,red fresh pepper,uda seeds and add to it.Then the dry prawns,boil for 5-10minutes then rinse and slice the uziza leaves and pour stir very well.
Nsala soup is made with small pieces of yam with utazi leaves. The soup originates from the Eastern part of Nigeria and Delta State particularly Ogwashi-uku and Ubulu-uku towns. This delicacy is quite different from Banga soup and Afghan soup. Is been a while i made this soup, hubby asked me to prepare it and i added more uda to give it that native taste. Ofe Nsala (Nsala Soup) is a soup popular in the eastern part of Nigeria.
