The ingredients needed to make Egg roll:
  1. Make ready 2 cups flour (250g)
  2. Take 1 egg (beaten)
  3. Get 1 tsp Baking powder
  4. Prepare 1/4 tsp Salt
  5. Prepare 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  6. Get 2 tbsp Butter
  7. Make ready 5 Eggs
  8. Make ready Sugar 2 ¹/² to 3tbsp
  9. Prepare Water 8-9tbsps (I used mixture of liquid milk and water)
  10. Prepare Feel free to use either water or milk or use both

I also experimented with freezing the egg rolls uncooked. After freezing I put them straight into a hot oven.

Instructions to make Egg roll:
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the Flour, Baking powder, Salt, Sugar and Nutmeg.
  2. Use your fingers to blend the Margarine into the flour until it’s crumbly.
  3. Add the beaten egg and mix together. The dough should look dry at this point
  4. Begin to introduce the mixture of milk and water a little at a time and work the dough till dough is soft/stiff and workable
  5. Work the dough for about a minute then cover it and let it rest for about 15 to 20 minutes
  6. Work the dough again for a couple of seconds to a minute and divide it into 5
  7. Tightly wrap each of the dough around each Egg.(the egg must be firmly covered or else it will burst open while frying).
  8. Fry on a medium heat turning over and over again until it’s golden brown. (DEEP FRYING) and it's done
  9. Note tsp means teaspoon, tbsp means table spoon. You may want to add butter, milk, chocolate, butter flavour or butter scotch flavour…. This recipe will give approximately. 5egg rolls. If you need it up to 10, simply multiply the recipe by 2 e.t.c.

I also experimented with freezing the egg rolls uncooked. After freezing I put them straight into a hot oven. Egg rolls are so called because the wrappers (or "skins") are made with egg; spring rolls wrappers are not.
